According to Fabrizio Romano, developments have been made in the transfer of Arnaut Danjuma to Tottenham Hotspur, with the journalist claiming a contract has been signed and the deal will be formally announced soon.

Tottenham have been interested in Danjuma for a couple of weeks according to the Daily Mail, but it was thought those leads had gone cold when Everton appeared to have signed the Villarreal winger on a six-month loan deal yesterday (Football Insider).

Apparently, the player had agreed to terms, undergone a medical, and carried out media duties to announce his arrival on Merseyside before getting cold feet in the wake of Frank lampard\s. This allowed Spurs to swoop and steal the Danjuma at the last minute, with the player set for a medical in North London yesterday (Football.London).

It is thought the Danjuma deal will include a £27 million option-to-buy clause for Spurs (The Times) and Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier today that the paperwork is expected to be completed at some point today to get the deal over the line.

Now, Romano has provided an update that suggests the confirmed transfer is one step closer to completion, as it sounds like Danjuma has put pen to paper on the move to Spurs.

Romano said: “Danjuma has just signed the contract as new Tottenham player — it will be official soon. Here we go.”

We all know that a “Here we go” from Romano is as good as a photo of the player holding the shirt, so it’s likely just a matter of time before this switch is all formally announced.

Our View

It’s good to see the club taking some action and it sounds like this deal is pretty much done now. Hopefully once this is out the way, we can get Pedro Porro wrapped up and spend the last few days of the window aiming to get another one in.
