Fichajes.net have revealed that former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is at the top of Chelsea’s wishlist to replace Graham Potter.

Antonio Conte’s future at Tottenham is up in the air, with the Italian’s current contract at the North London club running out in the summer (Transfermarkt).

Some outlets have suggested over recent months that Spurs could try to bring Pochettino back to the club if they part ways with the Italian (Daily Mail).

The Argentine, who spent five and a half years at the helm of Tottenham before being sacked in 2019, has been without work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

Fichajes.net have now suggested that Pochettino has emerged as a target for Spurs’ London rivals, Chelsea.

The report states that Potter’s position as the Blues head coach is in ‘increasing danger’, with the club currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League table following their defeat to Southampton.

The publication states that Chelsea have drawn up a four-man shortlist to replace the English coach, with Pochettino’s name at the top, followed by Luis Enrique, Zinedine Zidane and Diego Simeone.

Our View

If Tottenham do expect Conte to leave, Levy might get in touch with Pochettino to communicate about a potential vacancy in the summer.

However, perhaps it is wishful thinking to expect the Argentine to turn down the Chelsea job in the odd chance that the Spurs hot seat may open up in the summer.
