Football Transfers have claimed that Everton goakkeeper Jordan Pickford wants assurances that Harry Kane would be staying at Tottenham ahead of potentially agreeing on a move to North London.

It is now fairly clear that Spurs are set to enter the market for a new number one this summer, with Hugo Lloris himself admitting a couple of days ago that he wants a fresh challenge following 11 years in North London (Nice-Matin).

Fabrizio Romano revealed on the Here We Go Podcast a few days ago that Pickford is one of the options on Tottenham’s radar but he added that the goalkeeper is waiting for the Lilywhites to sort out their managerial situation first.

Football Transfers have now reported that Spurs have contacted Everton as well as the England number one’s entourage to discuss the possibility of a switch to N17.

The report states that Tottenham have been informed that they would have to pay £40m to sign the goalkeeper.

The publication adds that Pickford is not only waiting for Spurs to appoint a new head coach but also wants to know if his England teammate, Kane, would still be at the club, before making a decision on his future.

This perhaps underlines why Spurs might be reluctant to lose Kane this summer even though he has just one year left on his contract. Selling Kane would make the club a lot less appealing to potential new signings.

The likes of Maddison, Pickford, and Guehi are likely to have plenty of offers to choose from and they might not want to take the risk of coming to a club that appears to be on a downward spiral.
